New Delhi, Dec 7 (PTI) Standalone health insurer ApolloMunich Health Insurance today introduced a new category'Winsure' with health insurance plan called 'Health Wallet'.
Besides, it has roped in Bollywood celebrity FarhanAkhtar as the brand ambassador of the company.
Health Wallet is set to redefine the health insurancecategory by addressing pertinent questions such as value formoney.
"It not only addresses the current needs of the customersby paying for their hospitalisation and OPD expenses that areusually not covered by health insurance policies, but alsoensures affordability of continuing their policy in lateryears," Apollo Munich Health Insurance CEO Antony Jacob toldreporters here.
Other features of the product include creation of areserve kitty for the customers that can be used for a varietyof out-of-pocket expenses such as speech therapy, purchase ofmedicines, vaccinations, dental expenses, diagnostic tests,spectacles, contact lenses and medical devices and also allowsthe user with the flexibility of paying for 'non-payableitems' that are generally excluded from any health insurance.
"As a unique offering, it pays for other medical expensesthat are not covered under any other medical insurance such ascosmetic treatment, Alzheimer's etc. Last but not the least,customers can even use this reserve amount to fund for co-payment and deductible cost," he said.
Every year the unused reserve amount gets carried forwardand earns a 6 per cent bonus, he said, adding, thisaccumulated reserve kitty can in turn be used to pay up to 50per cent of the renewal premium, post five continuousrenewals. PTI DPSBT.
