in Philippines(Eds: Updating with fresh inputs)Hyderabad, Dec 7 (PTI) A GMR group company along withits partner, Manila-based Megawide, and four other firms weretoday shortlisted for submitting financial bid for the USD 250million Clark International Airport's new terminal buildingproject in Philippines.

"Out of seven companies, five complied with therequirement of the government. This is according to the(technical bids) submission that were made last Tuesday," anofficial of the Department of Transportation (DOTr) said in alive-streaming session today.

The first eligible company is China State ConstructionEngineering Corporation, second one is China HarbourEngineering Company, the third one is one SinohydroCorporation Limited, the fourth one is the joint venture ofMegawide-GMR Infrastructure (Singapore) and the fifth one isTokwing Construction Corporation, the official said.

"From this stage, Special Bids and Awards Committeewill do a detailed evaluation on the technical proposals todetermine the compliance. The next activity will be financialproposal on December 14 and the next day the project will beawarded to the winner," the official added.

According to a statement issued by the DOTr and theBases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) of thesoutheastern nation, earlier seven firms, includingGMR-Megawide, submitted the bid documents for the design,engineering and construction of the Clark InternationalAirport new terminal building in Philippines.

Clark International Airport, formerly known as theDiosdado Macapagal International Airport, is in Pampangaprovince of Philippines and is about 90 km from the capitalManila.

Qualified bidders will then move on to the next phaseof the bidding, which is the opening and evaluation of thefinancial documents scheduled on December 14, 2017.

The Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC)Contract will be awarded to the winning bidder on December 15,2017, the statement said.

"The Clark International Airport new terminal buildingwill break ground on December 20, 2017 at Clark Civil AviationComplex in Pampanga. The Php 12.50 billion (about USD 250million) project is expected to be completed in 2020," itfurther said. PTI GDKNP.
