New Delhi, Dec 7 (PTI) Private lender ICICI Bank todaysaid it has launched a digital service to allow customers toopen a PPF account online, eliminating the need for furnishingpaper documents.
The digital service will enable customers to open apublic provident fund (PPF) account instantly and in acompletely online and paperless manner.
"With this new facility, customers of the bank are nolonger required to visit a branch and submit physicaldocuments to open a PPF account. They can now convenientlyopen a PPF account anytime, anywhere using the bank's digitalchannels of Internet and mobile banking," it said in astatement.
The bank said it is the first lender in the country tointroduce a fully digital and paperless procedure for openinga PPF account.
The facility, available 24x7 and on all days, willrequire customers to login to their internet banking or mobilebanking and apply for a PPF account. PTI KPMMR.
