New Delhi, Dec 7(PTI) Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharamantoday contributed to the Armed Forces Flag fund for thewelfare of soldiers and ex-servicemen.
The Ministry of Defence launched a special digitalcampaign from December 1 to December 7 to enable people toexpress their solidarity with the soldiers of the Indian Army.
The country has been observing December 7 as the ArmedForces Flag Day since 1949 to honour the martyrs and the menin uniform who valiantly fought on the borders to safeguardthe country's honour.
"India's Armed Forces show supreme excellence duringwars, natural calamities, rescue ops. As a token of respect, Ihave contributed to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. I urge youto contribute to the fund as well using http://ksb.gov.in #ArmedForcesFlagDay," Sitharaman tweeted. PTI PRSMN.
