Shimla, Dec 7 (PTI) In order to apprise the investors andbuyers regarding the provisions of the Real Estate(Regulations and Development) Rules 2017, a workshop was heldhere today.

The real estate law is aimed at curbing the menace ofunscrupulous mischievous selling of plots and flats in thestate.

The workshop on the knowledge and information sharingabout "Real Estate (Regulations and Development) Act, 2016 andthe Himachal Pradesh Real Estate (Regulations and Development)Rules, 2017, jointly organised by the Department of HimachalPradesh Town and Himachal Pradesh Country Planning andHimachal Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory authority.

Addressing the one day workshop, Additional ChiefSecretary (Urban Development, Housing and Town and CountryPlanning) Manisha Nanda said that Himachal Pradesh Real EstateRegulatory Authority has emphasised that investors and buyersmust contact Town and Country Planning or Himachal PradeshReal Estate Regulatory Authority before entering into anysale-purchase agreement with builders to sell apartments orflats or plots in a planning area in the State after gettingtheir plans sanctioned from Urban Local Bodies or Town andCountry Planning Department.

Exemption from registration was only for development ofless than 500 metre square of land into plots or forconstructing eight flats/apartments, she said adding the stategovernment has named Director Town and Country Planning asDesignated officer of Himachal Pradesh Real Estate RegulatoryAuthority for registering builders estate agents forcontrolling and regulating real estate sector in the state.

Director Town and Country Planning Sandeep Kumar saidthat Himachal Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority has setup a web portal for various online services and is firstauthority to do so in the country. PTI CorrMKJ.
