New Delhi, Dec 14 (PTI) Delhi BJP president Manoj Tiwarihas alleged that night shelters in the city are in poorcondition and demanded Lt. Governor Anil Baijal direct theofficials to conduct surprise visit at these facilities.
Tiwari also alleged that a large number of homelesspeople have died in the past fortnight in the city.
"The report of death of 91 homeless people has shockedDelhi. These deaths have exposed the Kejriwal government'sclaims of providing facilities and shelter to the homelesspeople," Tiwari alleged in a statement.
The L-G should direct the chief secretary and otherofficials for surprise visits at these shelter homes to ensurethe homeless people have safer place to sleep at night, hesaid.
"We have come to know that at many places the sheltersare locked and at few others the caretakers ask for money forentry. Sanitation condition is very poor at many othershelters," he said.
He also demanded Kejriwal resign from the chiefminister's post taking responsibility for the deaths ofhomeless people. PTI VITTIR.
