New Delhi, Dec 16 (PTI) Congress president Rahul Gandhitoday paid homage to the Indian soldiers, who had made thesupreme sacrifice in the 1971 war with Pakistan, on theoccasion of Vijay Diwas.
"On #VijayDiwas, we salute the indomitable spirit andsacrifice of the martyrs of 1971 War.
"Let each one of us remember the unfathomable valour ofour soldiers, who defend India's freedom every day," he wroteon Twitter.
Vijay Diwas is commemorated on this day every year tomark India's victory over Pakistan in the war, which had ledto the creation of Bangladesh.
Over 90,000 Pakistani soldiers had surrendered before theIndian Army in the 1971 war. PTI ENMRC.
