Puducherry, Dec 18 (PTI) Rich tributes were paid toformer Chief Minister of Puducherry, V Venkatasubba Reddiar onhis 108th birth anniversary here today.
Speaker of territorial assembly V Vaithilingam, WelfareMinister M Kandasamy and functionaries of different wings ofthe ruling Congress were among those who paid floral tributesat the statue of Reddiar.
Venkatasubba Reddiar was a two term Chief Minister ofPuducherry and was also Mayor of Nettapakkam commune panchayatduring the French regime here.
He led the freedom movement in Puducherry whichculminated in its liberation from the French regime through areferendum held in Kizhoor village near here. PTI CORROH.
