New Delhi, Nov 6 (PTI) Jeera prices fell Rs 180 to closeat Rs 19,040 per quintal in futures trade today as speculatorsengaged in trimming positions to book profits at prevailinglevels amid lower domestic and exports demand.

Furthermore, ample stocks position following highersupplies from the producing regions, fuelled the downtrend.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeerafor delivery in December fell Rs 180, or 0.94 per cent lower,to close at Rs 19,040 per quintal with an open interest of10,251 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery this month moved downby Rs 120, or 0.64 per cent lower, to end at Rs 18,715 perquintal in 3,465 lots.

Analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators atexisting levels, fall in demand at the spot market againstadequate stocks position, kept pressure on jeera prices atfutures trade. PTI DP SUN DPLSBT.
