New Delhi, Nov 8 (PTI) Videocon Telecom's security andsurveillance arm Videocon WallCam today announced its forayinto the entry-level internet based CCTV camera solutionssegment with a target to garner around 21 per cent marketshare by 2021.
"Demand for CCTV solutions in retail segment, whichincludes households, shops and offices, (is) expected to growby over three times in organised trade.
"With our 'Eco Series' priced at Rs 4,990 comprising 4units of camera and a DVR, we expect to be among top 3 playersby 2021 in the segment," Videocon Telecom CEO Arvind Balisaid.
The Eco Series comes with 1 megapixel (mp), 1.3 mp and 2mp analog high definition indoor and outdoor cameras withoption of 4, 8 and 16 channel DVRs (Digital Video Recorders).
"Buyers will have option to access CCTV through theirmobile or web. The DVR will have to be connected with internetfor this purpose. We have plans to roll out the range in IPbased solution at a later stage," Bali said.
The Eco Series will be available at CCTV and electronicstores and the company will start selling it through onlinechannel at a later stage.
"The overall CCTV market is around Rs 3,650 crore inorganised segment. It is expected to grow to Rs 9,500 crore by2021. Retail segment contributes around Rs 450-600 crore atpresent. To be among top 3 players, we are looking at marketshare of 20-21 per cent in this segment," Bali said. PTI PRSABM.
