New Delhi, Nov 12 (PTI) The first Nordic-Baltic youthfilm festival will start here from tomorrow showcasing adiverse mix of some of the most celebrated and Oscar nominatedmovies from the region.

Organised by the Nordic-Baltic embassies -- Denmark,Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway andSweden -- the festival will take place from November 13 atIndia Habitat Centre here.

"It is a great pleasure to carry on these strong bondsand share the culture of our region with the Indian peoplethrough cinema. This film festival offers a diverse mix ofsome of the most celebrated films from the Nordic-Balticregion," the organisers said.

The festival will open with Land of Mine from Denmark, anOscar-nominated film about young German prisoners of World WarII who are forced to clear a beach from land mines by a DanishSergeant.

Over the course of six days, Delhi movie-goers will havean opportunity to watch films like Face to Face, Zero Point,The Lesson, and The Wave among others.

The festival will give the Indian audience an opportunityto connect with these countries and strengthen the culturalbond.

Ranging from action to family and documentaries, thefestival will offer a platform to enhance people-to-peoplerelations and share the love for cinema.

Tied together by geography, history, trade, and culture,the Nordic-Baltic countries seek to strengthen their bondthrough the festival.

The event will come to a close on November 18 with thescreening of Hobbyhorse Revolution from Finland, which is aquirky documentary about teenagers who bond through riding andgrooming toy horses. PTI NKS MAHMAH.
