Karaikal, Nov 14 (PTI) A French-era market building herewhich was built in 1865 and demolished in May, is all set tobe reconstructed with the financial assistance from WorldBank, Puducherry PWD Minister Namashivayam said today.
Laying the foundation stone for the reconstructionproject he said that the historic market building will bereconstructed in the same French style at a cost of Rs 10.05crore.
It would have ample parking space, cafeteria, ATMs andcold storage facilities, he said.
Namashivayam further said that the reconstruction workwill be carried out by the tsunami project implementationagency functioning under the control of Karaikal Municipality.
