Aizawl, Nov 14 (PTI) The workers of Opposition MizoNational Front (MNF) today tried to prevent Chief Minister LalThanhawla from attending the first day of assembly wintersession today, police said.

Aizawl district SP Neihchungnunga told PTI that around50 MNF workers brought charges of corruption against the chiefminister and gathered near his residence at McDonald Hill toprevent him from attending the assembly session.

The police, however, managed to disperse theprotesters without using force, the SP said.

"Lal Thanhawla has failed to mention about his primeproperty in the affidavit submitted to the election officialswhile filing nominations from Serchhip seat in 2013 assemblypolls. We held a protest today seeking explanation from theCM," the joint secretary of the party, Lallenmawia Jongte,said. PTI HCVRMS.
