New Delhi, Nov 18 (PTI) Rajya Sabha MP Sharad Yadav todaysaid that his faction of the JD(U) will fight the GujaratAssembly polls on 'autorickshaw' symbol and in alliance withthe Congress.

A day after the Election Commission rejected his claimsover the party's name and election symbol, Yadav termed as"not in conformity with justice" its decision to recognise thegroup led by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar as the realJanata Dal (United) or the JD(U) and allow his faction to use'arrow' symbol.

Kumar and Yadav parted ways after the former decided tojoin hands with the BJP in July, triggering a battle forthe control of the party.

The EC, in its order issued yesterday, said the group ledby Kumar "has demonstrated overwhelming majority support" inthe legislature wing as well as the majority in the nationalcouncil of the party, which is the apex organisational body ofthe JD(U).

A senior party leader said that the order will be studiedin detail by the lawyers and senior leaders, after which theYadav-faction could consider to approach the high courtagainst the commission's decision.

"We don't have dearth of symbols. We keep ourselvesprepared for the fight. There have been talks with theCongress about seats (sharing) for the Gujarat elections. Itwill be announced by the Congress party," Yadav told a pressconference here.

Asked about the new symbol his faction was going to adoptfor fighting in the Gujarat Assembly elections, he said, it is"autorickshaw".

He, however, did not announce the name of his new party.

Yadav also raised doubts over the Moody's upgradingIndia's sovereign credit rating when the "Indian economy is ina bad shape and economists are endorsing the economic crisisin the country".

"The government patting its back on Moody's report is ajoke on the people of this country. It is ridiculous that ourown economists including Manmohan Singh are not being reliedupon and the government is relying on the outside agency inmeasuring our economic situation," he said.

Yadav also criticised the government for allegedly makingit mandatory to link Aadhar card to avail ration by the poorunder the National Food Security Act.

"Rations were earlier being supplied to the beneficiarieswithout Aadhar card, but now the government has linked it toAadhar card and has put lakhs of people into miseries," hesaid. PTI MPKJ.
