Itanagar, Oct 13 (PTI) Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig(Retd) Dr B D Mishra today called for a composite package forinfrastructure development along the borders of the state.

Arunachal Pradesh is a border state sharing itsboundary with Bhutan, China and Myanmar and there is an urgentneed to focus on development of socio-economic infrastructurein the border villages, a Raj Bhawan communique quoted Mishraas saying.

"People of these villages serve a vital purpose ofkeeping the border intact," he said.

Referring to the internal security problems in theeastern part of the state, the governor emphasised on the needfor focus on developmental activities in those areas.

"To shun away the dual menace of opium consumption andinduction of unemployed youth in insurgent groups, there is arequirement of a comprehensive package for development of thethree districts of Tirap, Changlang and Longding," Mishrastressed.

He advocated setting up of entrepreneurshipdevelopment centres in each district to facilitate start-ups.

Stating that Itanagar is the only capital which is noton the air route map of the country, the governor called forensuring effective air connectivity in the state at theearliest. PTI UPLRBT.
