Panchkula (Har), Oct 13 (PTI) Dera Sacha Saudachairperson Vipassana Insan was today grilled for severalhours by a special investigating team of the Haryana Policehere in connection with the violence which broke out followingthe sect head's conviction in a rape case.
Vipassana reached here in the morning from the sectheadquarters at Sirsa, police said.
She was questioned for over eight hours by the SIT.
The Dera chairperson was summoned by the Panchkula Policefor questioning in connection with the violence followingGurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's conviction.
Vipassana was summoned by the SIT after she twice skippedappearing before it on medical grounds.
She had arrived in Panchkula, a few hours before thecourt remanded Honeypreet Insan, close confidante of jailedDera chief, in judicial custody till October 23.
Violence had erupted in Panchkula and Sirsa, the Deraheadquarters, which claimed 41 lives--six died in Sirsa--andleft nearly 200 injured in the August 25 violence which brokeout after Dera chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh's conviction.
The SIT had asked Vipassana to appear in Panchkula inconnection with the FIR in which the sect head's confidanteHoneypreet Insan, Dera spokesperson Aditya Insan and someother top functionaries are accused of sedition, conspiracyand other charges.
Police sources said Vipassana has handed over a mobilephone to the SIT.
A Special Investigation Team of the Sirsa police hadalso last month questioned the Dera chairperson in connectionwith the violence. PTI SUN VSDSRY.
