Jerusalem, Oct 13 (AP) An Israeli Cabinet minister saysthe best possible outcome of the US-Iran showdown over thecontentious nuclear deal would be for Congress to "cometogether around new, significant sanctions."Israeli Minister of Regional Cooperation Tzachi Hanegbitells Tel Aviv radio station 102 FM today that such a movewill compel large international companies to choose betweendoing business with the Iranians or the Americans.

The comment came hours before President Donald Trump isexpected to announce whether he will decertify the nucleardeal agreed upon by his predecessor, Barack Obama.

Israel vehemently criticized the deal at the time, buthas been largely quiet in the run-up to Trump's announcement.
