Jammu Oct 13 (PTI) The Congress today held a protestdemonstration in the city alleging that BJP president AmitShah's son Jay Shah has accumulated "huge wealth" thanks to"undue favour" granted by the NDA government at the Centre.

They raised slogans against the BJP and demanded AmitShah step down immediately.

They also protested against separatist Asiya Andrabibeing shown as a 'role model' in the government campaign for"Beti-Bachao Beti Padhao" in Kashmir.

Led by J&K Congress vice president Raman Bhalla, a largenumber of party leaders and workers took out a march fromCongress headquarters at the Shahidi Chowk, carrying placardsand raising slogans against the state and centre over their"failures" on various fronts.

As the protesters reached the Raghunath Mandir Chowk,police laid barricades and prevented them from proceedingtowards the City Chowk.

The Congress leaders held a dharna at the site and alsoburnt an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Bhalla said allegations against Jay Shah are based onfacts and need to be investigated by an independent agency.

Congress leader Ravinder Sharma in his address said thatpeople want to know the truth about these allegations anddemanded the prime minister immediately seek the resignationof Amit Shah as BJP president. PTI ABTIR.
