Krishnagar(WB), Oct 13 (PTI) A woman was arrested bypolice for allegedly killing her 45-day old baby girl in Nadiadistrict.
The body of the baby girl was found floating in a pondat Shondnaga area of Dhubulia on Wednesday. The policerecovered the body and started an unnatural death case.
During interrogation the baby girl's mother SarifaKhatun broke down and allegedly confessed that she had thrownher baby girl into the pond, a police officer said.
The baby girl was the third child of Sarifa and herhusband Juha Seikh. They already had a five-year-old son andthree-year-old daughter.
The police produced Sarifa before court here whichremanded her to 14-days judicial custody. PTI CORRG.
