Kozhikode, Oct 18 (PTI) Opposition leader in the Keralaassembly, Ramesh Chennithala today demanded that a special oneday assembly session be convened to table the report of thejudicial Commission that probed the solar scam, which hit theformer Congress-led UDF government headed by Ooomen Chandy.

The state government had, on October 11, ordered avigilance probe against Chandy in connection with themulti-crore-rupee scam, based on the findings of the JusticeG Sivarajan Commission, which had probed it.

Speaking to reporters here, Chennithala alleged that thegovernment was registering cases against senior Congressleaders of the erstwhile government after submission of theCommission's report.

Also Chandy had demanded a copy of the report and so thespecial one day assembly session should be convened and thereport tabled, he said.

Chandy had said on October 16 that he was still in thedark about the findings of the commission and that the actualfacts and findings, based on which the commission arrived atits conclusions, could only be known after he got a copy.

The Commission was appointed by the previous Chandygovernment after allegations surfaced about duping of severalpeople of crores of rupees by prime accused Saritha Nair andBiju Radhakrishnan, who offered them solar panel solutions.

Chennithala said senior Congress leader and formerUnion Minister A K Antony would flag off a month long 'KeralaYatra", in which alliance partners of UDF would participate,at Manjeswaram in Kasargod district on November 1.

IUML is a key partner in the UDF. The others are JDU andRSP.

Chennithala, who will lead the yatra, an initiative toprepare UDF ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, said a rallywould be held at the beach here when the yatra arrives in thecity.

IUML state president Panakkad Hyder Ali Shihab Thangalwould inaugurate the rally, he said, adding, the march willconclude at Thiruvananthapuram on December 1. PTI KV APRAPR.
