Baghdad, Jan 13 (AP) Iraqi officials say a suicidebombing in Baghdad has killed eight and wounded at least 10others.
Police and hospital officials say the Saturday blaststruck a northern Baghdad neighborhood targeting a policecheckpoint on a busy street, and that a number of policemenwere among the wounded.
All officials spoke on condition of anonymity in linewith regulations.
No group immediately claimed responsibility for theattack.
The number of bombings in Baghdad has decreasedsignificantly over the past few months since the country'ssecurity forces retook nearly all the territory once held bythe Islamic State group.
The extremist group claimed near-daily bombings inBaghdad over much of last year when it still held large swathsof territory in the country. (AP)MRJ.
