Neena retains snooker title

Neena Praveen of TNBSA defended her snooker title by beating Asha of Coimbatore 3-0 in the final of the TNBSA State Ranking tournament. In Billiards Poorna Priyadarshini of TNBSA secured her maiden billiards title by defeating Sowmini Srinivas of Gandhi Nagar Club 3-1 (75up).

Praveen shines

P Praveen Kumar unbeaten 91 paved the way for Nellai Nadar MHSS to beat Vysya Vidyalaya Hr. Sec. School by 97 runs in the final of the inter-school cricket tournament for MASC Trophy.

Balasubramaniam takes sole lead

IM Ramanathan Balasubramaniam of ICF lead with 6.5 points after the seventh round of the United India 2nd CDCA FIDE Rated Chess tournament at Hall of Chess, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Chennai here today. Eight players including FIDE Masters P Maheswaran and M Vinoth Kumar shared the second spot with 6.0 points.

The double round day saw International Master R Balasubramaniam defeating M Vinoth Kumar in the morning round and signing peace with top seed IM Norm holder Ram S Krishnan in the afternoon.
