Velammal bag overall championship

Velammal MHSS claimed the overall championship for boys, while PC Girls HSS and Pankajam HSS shared the overall championship for girls in the inter-school table tennis tournament held in Theni recently.

Pachaiyappa’s claim football crown

Pachaiyappa’s College thrashed St Joseph’s College 3-0 and claimed the fifth State-level inter-collegiate football tournament for the Rev. Fr. I. Prince, SJ Rolling trophy recently. Later, Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College beat Karunya University 5-4 in tie-breaker after play ended 1-1 in regular time.

Results: Pachaiyappa’s College, Chennai 3 (Venkatesan, Aaron, Somasundaram) bt St Joseph’s College, Tiruchi 0, Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College, Madurai 5 (Kumar, John Issac, Ajmeer, Sarath Kumar, Niranjan) bt Karunya University, Coimbatore 4 (Joshva, Hector, Selvamani, Hissam) via tie-breaker.

Faisal Prevails

Top seed Faisal Khan defeated Laxman Rawat 5-2 in the best-of-nine frames of The RKG Snooker Masters Pro-Am 2013.

Results (Final): Faisal Khan bt Laxman Rawat 5-2; Semifinals: Faisal Khan bt Balaji Reddy 4-1; Laxman Rawat bt Shivam Arora 4-2.

Chettinad Triumph

Chettinad Vidhyashram defeated Sir Sivaswamy Kalalaya 47-37 in the boys final of the 14th Kumararani Meena Muthiah-invitation basketball tournament. In the girls final, Chettinad Vidyashram overcame PSBB (KK Nagar) 42-36.

Chettinad girls team bagged the title for the 14th successive year. Sri Krishna and R Varsha (both Chettinad Vidyashram) were named the best boys and girls players.
