LONDON — Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal has been given a warning by England's Football Association for implying that a referee was biased against his team during an FA Cup match.
Van Gaal said after United's 0-0 draw with fourth-tier Cambridge on Jan. 23 that "every aspect of the match is against us — the pitch, the referee. Everything that you can think about this is against you."
The FA said Wednesday that Van Gaal was found to have breached FA Rules in relation to media comments and was warned as to his future conduct.
The Dutchman had contested the disrepute charge.
