TURIN (Italy): Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira is set to join Italian football champions Juventus after undergoing a secret medical test in Madrid.

Real had almost treated him like an unwelcomed guest for much of last season with his deal set to expire this summer. He was also linked to a move to German Bundesliga side FC Schalke 04 but it has been learnt the 28-year-old now is set to move to the Turin-based club, reported on Thursday.

After carrying out a secret medical in Madrid, Juventus expect to finalise a deal worth around four million euros a season in the next few days.

Khedira suffered through a number of injuries this summer including a problem with his heel that forced him out of the Real outfit. But the Juventus medical stuff were satisfied with his physical condition after the test.

Khedira joined Real from VfB Stuttgart in 2010 and has made over 100 league appearances for the club, helping them to a Spanish league title and a Champions League crown.
