Vivek's Unbeaten Ton Spurs Prem CC to Five-wicket Victory

CHENNAI: K Vivek’s unbeaten 102 was the feature of Prem CC’s five-wicket win over Crom Best Recreation Club in the SICGIL Trophy for non-first division teams of the TNCA.

Brief scores: Crom Best Recreation Club 193/6 in 30 overs (Jayesh Arjun 41 n o, M Sadiqul Ameen 38) lost to Prem CC 196/5 in 25.3 overs (K Vivek 102 n o). Sea Hawks 122/9 in 30 overs (Senthil Kumar 3/29) lost to Swaraj CC 123/8 in 23.4 overs (Jeyanth 48 n o; Nambi Rajan 3/26). Crom Best 170/8 in 30 overs (E Arun Kumar 75, S R Mithun 50; Santhana Devan 3/21) bt KMC 129 in 26.1 overs (A Vivek 3/31, S Gopinath 3/33). Madras Port Trust 195 in 30 overs (D Gokula Krishnan 61) bt Perungalathur CC 169 in 29.4 overs (Lakshmikanth 55). Garnet Cricket Club 164/8 in 30 overs (B R Pranav Ram 63; S Senthil Kumar 3/35) lost to Swaraj CC 170/2 in 20 overs (Gokul 39, Jayanth 49 n o).

 State Snooker

The Tamil Nadu Billiards and Snooker Association is conducting the S A Faheem Classic-6 Red snooker state ranking tournament at the TNBSA premises from June 8 onwards.

This is the fifth edition of the men’s 6 Red and the first edition of the ladies 6 Red state ranking event. The top two men and ladies players will represent Tamil Nadu at the National 6 Red Snooker Championship to be held in August.

The knockout tournament will be played as per rules of the IBSF definition for 6 Red format. Former state champion S A Saleem is sponsoring the event in memory of his brother S A Faheem, with a total prize money of `50,000.
