Naseeb Inflicts Surprise Defeat on Ashok

CHENNAI: Naseeb Nazar inflicted a shocking 3-1 defeat on top seed and defending champion Ashok Subramaniam in the third round of the SA Faheem Classic-TNBSA Tamil Nadu 6 Red men’s state ranking tournament.

In the first two frames, after a well fought battle, Naseeb claimed victory in the pink ball game in both. Ashok seized the initiative with a break of 39 in the crucial third.

In the fourth frame, Naseeb thrashed Ashok 41-9 and Ashok was thrown out of the game in the colour ball situation.

Vignesh Cracks Ton

G Vignesh’s 102 (95b, 9x4, 2x6) helped ICF SA beat Prem CC by 85 runs in the Sicgil Trophy, which is being held for the last 26 years in a row.
