CHENNAI: M Sridhar Raj’s 113 enabled Nelson Sports Club to beat Southern Railway Institute by 113 runs in a Second Division Elite Group match of the TNCA league. He was supported by D Govindaraj, who notched up 54 as Nelson posted 359/6 in their quota of overs.
In reply, Southern Railway could muster only 246, folding up with 22 balls left to be bowled. Khadar Basha and Jafar Jamal were their mainstays with the bat, scoring 72 and 58 respectively. N Sandeep was the winners’ wrecker-in-chief with the ball, as he finished the day with figures of 3/39. In another match held on the same day, TI Cycles beat Aruna Cricket Club by 52 runs.
