CHENNAI: Office-Bearers of district units affiliated to TNCA had an informal meeting over dinner on Monday. Former BCCI president N Srinivasan and TNCA secretary Kasi Viswanathan attended the meeting called to discuss the SC order on Lodha panel guidelines. Among matters discussed was BCCI CEO Rahul Johri’s  communication with TNCA, asking it to write a letter with names of new office-bearers.

Members attending  the meeting said such a letter will not be sent. “Who is Johri to ask us to send the letter?” retorted a member who attended the meeting. “We are waiting for the January 19 SC judgement. According to the outcome, we will decide how to go about the process. All the members pledged they will stay united and take things as they  come.”

Several district office-bearers sought clarifications on issues like tenure. “One wanted to know if he  resigns immediately, will he get a full term when the next starts. He was told that as per the new rule, an office-bearer at any level can hold his post for three years. If a person has completed 18 months in one post, even if he resigns at once, he will be eligible for the new post for 18 months, not three years,” said a district secretary.
