CHENNAI: Petitioner in the cases against BCCI that caused all the reform upheaval, Aditya Verma is unhappy that the matter has gotten stalled in Supreme Court. Friday was another day when it did not come up for hearing, despite being scheduled for one. A next date is unlikely before March 6, when the court reopens.

The Cricket Association of Bihar secretary, on whose appeal the implementation of Lodha recommendations was made mandatory by the special bench headed by the Chief Justice of India, is planning a trip to Chennai next week. Reason? To express before media his regret at the situation. And, if possible, line up a meeting with N Srinivasan.

This meeting is unlikely because Srinivasan has no apparent plans to share time with Verma, who had challenged the former BCCI president’s role in court. And it’s too late for any strategic alliance. “If Srinivasan is willing, I’d pay him a visit. Just a courtesy call, to tell him I have nothing personal against him,” said Verma.

On why he wants to address the media in Chennai to “vent his frustration” at the state of affairs where nothing seems to be moving, Verma said that his battle began against Srinivasan, who hails from the city. “And now it seems that the battle has lost direction. I have more to say. It’s Chennai because this place was related to what I stood against.”
