Irate Kerala Blasters fans destroy stadium chairs

KOCHI: After the final whistle, chairs rather than confetti were raining at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday. The Yellow Army decided to vandalise their home stadium after security men tussled with fans who entered the pitch to hug Kerala Blasters players who were on a victory lap.
The police and ground security personnel forced to run for cover after some unruly fans, who positioned themselves behind the Let’s Football Kerala logo, hurled chairs, glass bottles and plastic cups filled with soft drinks into the ground.

Security personnel said a large part of the crowd was celebrating the victory of Kerala Blasters within the limit, some sections decided to break the lines.
“Kerala Blasters fans should learn to behave. A group of hooligans destroyed hundreds of chairs and threw them into the ground after the match. Almost 8-10 chairs next to me were totally destroyed and removed,” tweeted one of the Kerala Blasters fans.The Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is poised to host the ISL final on December 18 and such behaviour from fans might not augur well.
