CHENNAI: The proposed merger between I-League and the Indian Super League is on track, I-League CEO Sunando Dhar said here on Friday.

Dhar was in the city to inspect the JN Stadium, which will host Chennai City FC’s matches. “I think everyone associated with the game wants one league,” Dhar said.

“The original target was 2017 because we were going to have a crammed calendar with the U-17 World Cup. But it is not that easy and we have been talking to all the stakeholders.”

He said that 75 I-League matches would be telecast live this season.
