PARIS: Lyon coach Bruno Genesio was given a one-match ban on Thursday after being sent off during his team's 2-1 win at Amiens on Sunday.
He was dismissed for vehemently contesting referee Olivier Thual's officiating and will miss Lyon's trip to Toulouse next Wednesday.
Genesio had apologised for his behaviour after the match.
"I'm sorry I reacted that way because I didn't make a good impression," said the 51-year-old.
"I was annoyed at the treatment of Nabil (Fekir) who was fouled far too many times without anything being given."
