English footballing great John Terry has been a non-smoker all his life. Obviously then there is no wonder that he was astonished to find himself again on the pack of the Indian cigarette brand "Gold Flake" with sickly lungs.

The former Chelsea defender, who now leads Aston Villa in the top football league in England, hit out at the company by posting a story on Instagram.

"Disgusting from this company Gold Flake using my image on their cigarettes. I hate smoking !!!” - Terry wrote on Thursday morning.

Terry's photo has been used with the message "Smoking kills" for nearly a decade now as the part of an anti-smoking drive by the popular brand. The graphic is supposed to warn smokers of the possible consequences that tobacco can cause to their body.

The 36-year-old footballer first realised that he was being used by the company back in 2012, reports The Sun.

The issue is getting much attention on various social media platforms thanks to the huge Indian football fanbase and cyber trollers.
