Left parties extend support to JD(S)

Left parties in Karnataka have extended support to the JD(S) in the ensuing bypolls to eight Assembly segment.

BANGALORE: Wednesday, December 03, 2008to be held on December 27.

Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda after a meeting with State CPM leaders here on Tuesday, said that the JD(S) would formulate all its political strategies in consultation with the Left.

Meanwhile, Gowda who was earlier scheduled to announce the list of candidates said that there was no hurry to do so. “We have time till December 10,” he said. “We would soon announce candidates to all segments after consulting local leaders,” he said.

Apart from communist leaders G N Nagaraj, V G K Nair and former MLA G V Srirama Reddy, the meeting was attended by JD(S) leaders M C Nanaiah, C Narayanaswamy and Y S V Datta.
