Call from company proves deadly

A software consultant of Tuni is among the deceased in Tamil Nadu Express fire mishap near Nellore in the wee hours of Monday. Burre Kala Sagar (28), who boarded the the ill-fated train at Vijayawada, was charred to death.

Sagar, who works in Chennai, came to his native place Tuni three days ago to attend his cousin Bhaskar’s wedding scheduled for August 2. However, he received a phone call from his company on Sunday asking him to report for duty immediately.

He reached Vijayawada on Sunday night and boarded the Tamil Nadu Express along with his three colleagues. He died in the fire mishap, while the fate of his colleagues is not known. Sagar is working as assistant consultant at Barriveh Miller Company for the last two years.

On hearing the tragic news, his father Ramana Babu and others rushed to Nellore only to identify the body of Kala Sagar. They said despite repeated requests from family members, Sagar started for Chennai.
