State CPI prepares 9-point action plan

The state council of Communist Party of India has decided to launch a publicity campaign on the demand for Telangana in all districts in the region from August 21 to 31 in coordination with other left parties which support division of the state.

The council, at the end of its three-day meeting here on Tuesday, adopted a political resolution alleging that the Congress government had failed on all fronts. The party announced an action plan for the next three months with focus on nine demands.

The party decided to support TJAC’s programmes in the region but will carry out publicity campaign under its own banner. Alleging that the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre was not in a position to take any decision on the T-issue, the CPI said a mass movement was the only way left  to achieve statehood.
