Andhra police commissionerates to get dispensaries soon

Each police commissionerate in the state will soon have dispensaries along with one civil assistant surgeon. The Finance Department on Monday issued orders for the appointment of the assistant surgeons.

The Home Department sent proposals for setting up 31 dispensaries at police commissionerates/ district police headquarters.

The Finance Department approved the proposal and sanctioned a total of Rs 93 lakhs - Rs 3 lakh for each of 31 commissionerates. The premises of the commissionerates will be renovated for the proposed dispensaries, which will have a laboratory, a physiotherapy room and  other basic infrastructure.

Each commissionerate will get an amount of Rs 82,500 for chairs, tables, almirahs, wheel chairs and stools. Funds to the tune of Rs 6,17,500 for each headquarters will also be given. The Finance Department wanted the Home Department to send separate proposals for additional funds for renovations and establishing laboratories.
