Kidnapped baby traced in 12 hours

Anantapur police were able to arrest a woman and rescue the baby whom she had abducted from the government hospital here, within 12 hours, after the baby was reported missing.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, DSP Dayakar Reddy said that the just born male child of Shabina and Basha from Janashakti Nagar in the town, was found missing from the bed in the hospital in the early hours of Monday. The shocked couple complained to the hospital staff, who in turn informed the police, who immediately swung into action.

Special teams were launched to locate the baby. Their search led to a woman Fatima of Vidavanakallu. She was nabbed with the child in her possession at the Srikantam circle in the town, in the evening.
