12 die in 4 road mishaps in State

Twelve persons, including an 18-month-old boy, were killed in different road accidents in WG, Kurnool, Nellore and Anantapur districts on Tuesday. Nearly 20 persons were injured in these accidents and the condition of three of the injured is stated to be critical.

K Kalyana Krishna Varma (26) of Kalidindi in Krishna district along with his family members and in-laws of Bujabalapatnam went to Dwaraka Tirumala temple on a pilgrimage on August 11. After spending two days there, the family was returning in their car to Bujabalapatnam on Monday night when the accident took place.

In another mishap, two persons died and eight others suffered injuries when an SUV collided with a tipper coming in the opposite direction in Kurnool district. The injured were shifted to Nandyal government hospital.

In yet another mishap, O Narayana (37) of Narukur village in Nellore rural mandal died when a lorry in which he was travelling overturned in Kodavaluru mandal. Eight persons were injured in the incident

Three more persons died in another accident at Kootagulla in Kadiri mandal of Anantapur district.
