Intensifying its probe into mining baron Gali Janardhan Reddy’s bail scam, the Anti-Corruption Bureau issued notices to Karnataka legislator B Sriramulu on Friday asking him to appear before it within three days (before August 21) for questioning him.

With Sriramulu not available, ACB sleuths hand over the summons notice to his wife.

The Bellary MLA is a close associate of the former Karnataka minister and had visited him at the Chanchalguda central jail here several times.

The ACB, which is investigating the bail scam, is of the view that Sriramulu is aware of the dealings that took place between the kin of Janardhan Reddy and the mediators who managed to secure bail by influencing judge T Pattabhirama Rao who was suspended later.

The ACB wants to question Sriramulu about the source of money that was given as bribe to the suspended judge.

 It suspects that the `9.

50 crore paid to several people after Janardhan Reddy had been granted bail was provided by Sriramulu.

His alleged role came to light during the questioning of fellow MLA from Kampli TH Suresh Babu, who happens to be his nephew.

The ACB had already arrested two Karnataka MLAs, Gali Somasekhara Reddy and TH Suresh Babu.

Sriramulu’s name cropped up during the quizzing of Raavi Suryaprakash Rao, a realtor, who was also arrested.

Rao confessed that he had met Sriramulu through Suresh Babu to discuss a deal.

Meanwhile, the special court for ACB cases extended the judicial remand of the arrested, whose names figured in the chargesheet, till August 24, and posted orders on the bail petition filed by Raavi Suryaprakash Rao to August 21.

It also took into cognisance the chargesheet filed by the investigation agency on August 13 with respect to the scam
