Cabinet may discuss sub-plans on August 31

The state cabinet is likely to meet on August 31 to approve the report submitted by the cabinet sub-committee on the Scheduled Caste Sub-Plan and the Tribal Sub-Plan.

After approval by the cabinet, the report will be tabled in the Assembly for a discussion during the monsoon session which is likely to be conducted in the third week of September.

According to sources, the government plans to hold the monsoon session of the Assembly and Council in the third week of September after the return of Assembly speaker N.

Manohar and Council chairman A. Chakrapani from Colombo in Sri Lanka where they will participate in the 58th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference from September 7 to 15.

The government also plans to enact a legislation on the SC/ST sub-plans during the monsoon session.

“We are committed to the welfare of SCs and STs. As per chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy’s promise a legislation will be enacted to give statutory status to the SC and ST sub-plans,” said social welfare minister Pithani Satyanarayana.
