HYDERABAD: Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will inaugurate the newly-laid broad gauge line between Jaggayyapeta and Mellacheruvu at a function to be held at Mellacheruvu railway station on Friday.
Minister of state for railways KH Muniyappa will preside over the function.
The function will be attended by other public representatives and senior officials from the South Central Railway.
The Jaggayyapeta-Mellacheruvu (20.60 km) new railway line forms part of Jaggayyapeta-Vishnupuram (60 km) new railway project. On completion of the entire project, this line will connect two trunk routes by linking Motumari on Kazipet-Vijayawada section and Vishnupuram on Bibinagar-Guntur section.
