PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana is said to be furious against Union tribal welfare minister V Kishore Chandra Deo for allegedly sending a note to party president Sonia Gandhi with allegations that he was a liquor don and that he had facilitated supply of 1.
5 tmcft of water to a power plant from Jandhyavathi river.
Botcha reportedly told his confidants that he had information that the note had reached a Delhi-based newspaper from Deo’s email account.
Botcha, who claims to have helped Deo win from Araku in the 2009 general elections, is understood to be upset that Deo had no ‘gratitude’ for him.
“Though he had been there for a long time, he was a nobody.
In the last elections, I helped him win from Araku,” Satyanarayana reportedly commented with his confidants.
Botcha denied he had helped the plant power, promoted by Sun Pharma, in getting 1.
5 tmcft of water from Jandhyavathi river in violation of rules.
The PCC president has mobilised support from north Andhra ministers Shatrucharla Vijayaramaraju and Ganta Srinivasa Rao who disapproved of the Union minister sending a note to the party president against Botcha and Kiran Kumar Reddy.
Vijayaramaraju dared Deo whether he was willing to quit public life if his allegation that he (Shatrucharla) had a share in the power plant was proved false.
Satyanarayana maintained that contrary to what Deo was saying, he had tried to prevent issue of a GO for supply of water to the power plant in Maharashtra.
He had represented to the late YSR, then K Rosaiah and finally N Kiran Kumar Reddy not to issue any orders for release of water to the plant.
But without his knowledge, a GO had been passed releasing 1.
5 tmcft of water to the plant from Komarada reservoir, Botcha said.
“Deo is a central minister and Sun Pharma’s management in Delhi may have influenced him in recommending issuance of GO for release of 1.
5 tmcft of water,” he alleged.
