TJAC to work for political unity

The steering committee of the Telangana joint action committee (TJAC), which met here on Tuesday, decided to intensify its efforts to achieve political unity in Telangana and discuss the issue in the presence of its political constituents at its meeting scheduled to be held here on December 1. The TJAC invited TRS, BJP and CPI-ML New Democracy to the extended general body meeting.

The JAC meeting held at TNGO Bhavan reviewed the prevailing political situation in the region, including the on-going padayatras by YSRC and TDP leaders.

The TJAC decided to extend its support for the TRS Deksha Diwas to be observed on November 29, the day TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao launched his fast in 2009, at Siddipet in Medak district.

It also decided to participate in the Dhoomdham Dashabdi Utsavalu all over the region.

Announcing the steering committee decisions, TJAC chairman M Kodandaram said the TJAC would finalise its future agitation programmes at December 1 meeting and would launch protests targeting the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre.

Leaders of both Congress and TDP in Telangana should declare how they are going to build pressure for the creation of Telangana state, he said.

He also demanded that Congress MPs from Telangana region should declare their political programme to achieve Telangana.

He alleged that TDP and YSRC are neglecting the aspirations of Telangana people. “Why Chandrababu Naidu and YS Vijayalaxmi are not demanding Telangana state?” he asked.

He alleged that the Congress leadership is continuing its betrayal attitude towards Telangana.

He took exception to Union minister Vayalar Ravi’s statement that there was no time frame to resolve the Telangana issue.
