Stop Bifurcation Process: Chandrababu Naidu

The TDP chief warned that Telugu people will surely teach a fitting lesson to the Congress and its president Sonia Gandhi for the injustice being meted out in the name of bifurcation.

Taking exception to the process of state division, Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu has warned that Telugu people will surely teach a fitting lesson to the Congress and its president Sonia Gandhi for the injustice being meted out in the name of bifurcation.

Taking part in a dhrana at Prakasam barrage, opposing Brijesh Kumar Tribunal verdict on Krishna water allotment, here on Wednesday, Chandrababu Naidu demanded that the process of state bifurcation be stopped and a meeting convened with stakeholders of the two regions to arrive at a consensus on contentious issues.

He warned that the TDP will not remain a mute spectator if the Centre divides the state without addressing the apprehensions of the stakeholders.

The former chief minister said the state was not the ‘jagir’ of the Congress party to divide it as it pleases and warned that the TDP will bury the Congress for good in the state.

The Centre can not divide the state based on the emails received by it, he said.

Finding fault with the Group of Ministers (GoM), he said neither the GoM members nor the UPA chairperson knew anything about Andhra Pradesh. GoM has no clarity on the formation of T-state and now there is the proposal of Rayala-Telangana.

“All these things indicate that the UPA government is acting as per its will, disregarding the apprehensions and sentiments of the people,” he said and added the 130 days of agitation by Seemandhra people was only ignored by the Central government. If the Centre goes ahead in the present manner, it will have serious ramifications, Naidu added.
