Grandeur marked the wedding of minister for infrastructure and investments Ganta Srinivasa Rao’s daughter Sai Pujitha with Bhimavaram MLA Pulaparthi Anjaneyulu’s son Venkatram Prashant at Andhra University Engineering College Grounds here Wednesday.

Though a host of VIPs landed for the wedding, State and Tamil Nadu governors ESL Narasimhan and K Rosaiah respectively were conspicuous by their absence.

The ministers from Telangana region except Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Danam Nagender, too shied away amidst speculations that integrationists might cause trouble on their arrival.

 Many politicos and members of film fraternity graced the occasion. Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Opposition leader and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, Union ministers K Chiranjeevi, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao and Killi Kruparani, PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana, and 20 ministers were among a host of VIPs who attended the marriage ceremony at the AU college of Engineering grounds.

 Former minister JC Diwakar Reddy, Rajya Sabha member T Subbarami Reddy, YSR Congress leaders YV Subba Reddy, Dadi Veerabhadra Rao and Konathala Ramakrishna, TDP leaders Bandaru Satyanarayana, Ch Ayyanna Patrudu and MVVS Murthy, along with members from film industry K Raghavendra Rao, D Ramanaidu, actors Mohan Babu and Jagapathi Babu were present.

Several bureaucrats, industrialists and APNGOs president P Ashok Babu were seen.

 The route from Three Town police station to Maddilapalem via Andhra University Engineering Grounds was agog with visitors to the grand wedding or due to onlookers, who tried to have a fleeting glimpse of the mega event.

The City Traffic police had a tough time in managing the traffic including public transport, while catering to the requirements of the VVIPs and VIPs at the AU grounds.
