The Congress high command, which has been adopting a dilly dallying attitude towards Telangana, on Friday issued a favourable statement claiming that it never said it was against T state.
“We never rejected statehood demand. Our party’s stand is clear on the issue. As the process of consultations is still going on, I only request people to exercise restraint till a decision is announced by the Centre over the issue,” AICC state affairs incharge Vayalar Ravi said.
Saying that if all the political parties backed the issue like the NCP, he said it would pave way for the smooth passage of the Bill in the Parliament.
Speaking in Delhi on Friday, Vayalar said the issue was under discussion and the chief minister and PCC chief B Satyanarayana would be called for talks.
