BC association to stall Panchayat elections

AP State Backward Classes Welfare Association (APSBCWAS) has decided to stall Panchayat Raj election process if they are held without providing 34 per cent reservations to BCs.

At a meeting here Saturday, APSBCWAS president R Krishnaiah said chief minister Kiran had announced local body polls would be held in 45 days. But BC associations moved the SC, challenging the HC’s decision which states that BC reservations be reduced from 34 per cent to 22 per cent.
