District Mahila Sessions Court judge N. Raja Prasad Baba on Wednesday sentenced Ch Ravi Kumar to life imprisonment in the sensational murder of his wife,and an engineering student Ch Krishnaveni (21), in the city nearly two years ago.
Kumar’s parents Suryanarayana and Guramma, sisters M Syamala Devi and D Prasanna Kumari were sentenced to three years’ rigorous imprisonment for harassing the victim for more dowry.
The court imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on Ravi Kumar and Rs 2,000 on the other accused.
It acquitted two accused. All the convicts were sent to prison in the evening.
